VLN-Champions at the 24h Race with a BMW M4 GT4

The start of the current VLN Champions Christopher Rink, Danny Brink and Philipp Leisen with a BMW M4 GT4 at the legendary Nürburgring 24h Race will certainly represent a highlight in their current motorsport season. To be best prepared for the endurance race, the BMW Sports Trophy winners will also compete in the 6 Hour Qualification Race 24h on 19thof May. “I am really delighted that we were able to make these starts possible for the trio and thus to reward their strong performances”, says BMW Group Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt.

During a test in Portugal, Rink, Brink and Leisen already gathered some experience behind the wheel of the BMW M4 GT4. “The test in Portimãowas very important for us as we could complete many laps and got used to the car. Moreover, the analysis of the data together with the engineers was very valuable”, says Brink. And Rink adds: “The test in Portimão was super. In addition, I’ve had the opportunity to drive the car at the Nordschleife already at VLN1. I had a very good impression there, too. The driving experience can by no means be compared to the one in the production-based BMW 325i.” Leisen says: “The BMW M4 GT4 is a true race car. I am curious to see how it will feel at the Nordschleife. The Qualification Race is an important test for us before it then comes down to the pure action at the 24 Hour Race.”

Marcel Next Sunday, Lenerz will support the team as fourth driver. For the 24h Race, Dirk Adorf will complete the team as fourth driver and he will present live commentaries from the cockpit. “With Christopher, Danny and Philipp, we have the three VLN winners from 2018 on board. So there is nothing that I would have to explain them in terms of racing at the Nordschleife”, says Adorf. The race participation is organised by Adrenalin Motorsport. The team around Matthias Unger won the BMW Sport Trophy Team Classification four times in a row between 2014 and 2017.
