Nordschleife and Assenheimer – a matter close to his heart

In 2018, Patrick Assenheimer finally achieved the breakthrough at VLN8. Together with Dominik Baumann, he succeeded in taking his first overall victory in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 at the 50thADAC Barbarossapreis, his 56thVLN race. The 26 year old, who was born in Heilbronn/ Germany, will in 2019 again be at the start of the Nordschleife with the SP9 AutoArenA Mercedes AMG GT3 of Black Falcon. “The ‘Green Hell’ is so close to my heart as this is where my motorsport career began”, says Assenheimer.

In addition to the races of the VLN endurance championship, the Nürburgring ADAC Total 24h Race will represent the main focus of his racing programme this year. His calendar features moreover the races of the Blancpain Endurance Series. “I am absolutely delighted about the cooperation with Black Falcon and about the fantastic programme. At the season’s highlight, the Nürburgring 24h, I will be competing in a car that has chances for victory. With the VLN win, a dream has come true for me. Indeed, I have already taken four class wins at the 24h Race and several top-three results in V4, but never before in the GT3 class”, says Assenheimer.
