Patrick Assenheimer of the Team AutoArenA Motorsport has changed his car. The 25-years old will this year tackle the Nürburgring endurance championship in the most competitive class. He will drive a Mercedes AMG GT3 in class SP9, together with Clemens Schmid. The latter 27-years old Austrian is a newcomer in the VLN, in contrast to Assenheimer who has already participated with the Mercedes AMG GT3 in two races at the Nordschleife in 2016 and 2017.
For years, Assenheimer had previously competed in the VLN with a Mercedes Benz C 230 in class V4 where he took three class wins in 2012. “I am full of anticipation. The Nordschleife is always a big challenge both for the drivers and the race cars. We are well aware that the competition will be tough at the Nürburgring but we will nevertheless try to fight for top positions”, says Assenheimer.
