A dozen of race cars: Adrenalin pure

Stronger by the dozen: The PIXUM Team Adrenalin Motorsport will bring not less than twelve cars to the start of the season opener of the VLN endurance championship. The team hereby relies mostly onto the well-proven car models, including their respective drivers. New in the portfolio of Matthias Unger’s team are a Porsche Cayman S and a brand-new BMW M4 GT4.

“For me, the GT4 class is the future. More and more renowned manufacturers nowadays prepare cars so as to address a larger target group compared to the cost-intensive GT3 cars. After BMW has extensively developed the car last year at the Nordschleife, we have bought a model this winter. I am convinced that the class will be very strong this year and provide exciting motorsport action”, says the Team Principle. Uwe Ebertz has been confirmed as driver for the new BMW M4 GT4. “We are still looking for good and reliable drivers for the BMW M4 GT4”, adds Unger.

The second new car of the PIXUM Team Adrenalin Motorsport, a Porsche Cayman S, will be driven by Christian Büllesbach, Andreas Schettler, Carsten Palluth as well as Ioannis Smyrlis. They will compete in class V6 and try to fight for top positions there.

In the production car class V5, the team will stick with the successful driver trio of last year. So Daniel Zils, Norbert Fischer and Christian Konnerth will share the cockpit of the Porsche Cayman. With a remarkable performance of eight class wins, they took the vice-championship in the VLN last year and won the VLN Production Car Cup. John Larsson and Andreas Ahremark will take turns in the second Porsche Cayman in class V5,

In production car class V4, Christopher Rink, Danny Brink and Philipp Leisen will again be chasing for class victories. Last year, the driver trio could already celebrate some victories and top-three positions in this constellation. The sister car will be driven by Christoph Magg, Philipp Stahlschmidt and John-Lee Schambony. The team will also have good chances in the BMW M235i Racing Cup. After their win at the season finale last year, Yannick Fübrich and David Griessner have smelled blood. They both will belong to the regular drivers in the team, just as Lutz Marc Rühl, Christian Müller and Stefan Kruse. The three drivers share another BMW M235i Racing.

For the first two rounds, Gustav Engljähringer will moreover support the team. Despite his paraplegia the 46-years old motorsport man exercises motorsport at highest level. At the beginning of the year, he took a class win at the Dubai 24h Race. He will share the cockpit of a BMW M235i Racing with Stefan Fuhrmann and Michael Hollerweger. “I have greatest respect for Gustav and his performance. He represents a fantastic example that you should never give up in life. It is amazing to see how he copes with his stroke of fate and continues to fulfil his dreams”, says Unger who can hardly wait for the new season to start.

“Last year, we have achieved many successful results in several classes in the VLN. I am incredibly proud that we have so many regular drivers and that we can thus carry on our successful cooperation. The remaining drivers for our cars will be appointed from race to race.”
