Classification of VLN round seven amended

The classification of the 57th ADAC Reinoldus-Langstreckenrennens has been subsequently amended. Due to an error in the systems, Race Control established the final classification of the seventh VLN race based on the order after lap 21. “In compliance with the Sporting Regulations and the Sporting Code, the classification should correctly have been established on basis of the order after lap 22”, admitted VLN Sporting Director Michael Bork. “We are sorry for that mistake. In agreement with the Stewards, we have decided to correct that mistake subsequently.”

On account of the new classification, the order in the overall classification for the top teams is now as follows: Behind the winners, Michael Christensen and Kévin Estre in the Porsche 911 GT3 R of Manthey-Racing, „Dieter Schmidtmann“, Heiko Hammel and Felipe Fernandez Laser are now following in second place with their Renault R.S.01. The Haribo Racing Team completes the top three with the Mercedes-AMG GT3.

“For none of the parties involved was it an option not to correct the mistake – this would not have been fair in our opinion”, says Bork. “We will try everything to ensure that any such issue will not happen again in future.”

The correction of the results of round seven is based on the DMSB Event Regulations, Article 23.4., which states that, should an apparent mistake or error be detected after the publication of the official results and should it become necessary to amend the classification as a consequence, the Stewards are authorised to order the classification to be corrected.

The amended classification as well as the updated championship classification are published on the official website www.VLN.de.
