Marcel Manheller now in the lead of the VLN championship

The Team Manheller Racing will keep a good memory of last Saturday. For the third time in the current season, Marcel Manheller and Carsten Knetchges won class V4 at the seventh VLN race. In addition to this fantastic result, Marcel Manheller went into the lead of the VLN championship. “That was a tough race with many accidents. We are happy that our car did not suffer any damages“, he said.

The BMWi e90 started the race from fourth grid position. “We were very impressed this time by the performance of our competitors”, admitted Manheller. In the second half of the race, the driver duo moved up many placed as the drivers set constant lap times with their BMW and the team performed quick pit stops. Shortly before the race was finally stopped, they had gone into the lead.

Into second place of class SP6 finished the WWS-BMW M3 with Kurt Strube and Stefan Manheller. The driver duo was moreover able to enjoy pole position and, with a time of 9:01.610 minutes, the fastest lap in their class. After a damage on their manifold, the Toyota GT86 Cup vehicle with drivers Lucian Gavris, Dale Lomas and Werner Gusenbauer still managed to achieve a fifth place in class CUP4. “That was a brilliant overall result, thanks to a perfect car, a professional team and of course a quick diver duo”, said Team Principle Stefan Manheller full of praise.
