Simoncini to contest the 600th race of his career at VLN7

A very special jubilee will be celebrated on occasion of the 57th ADAC Reinoldus-Langstreckenrennen. At this 7th VLN race of the season, Mauro Simoncini will contest the 600th race of his motorsport career. The 60 years old Italian will start In a BMW 325 Ci Coupé in class SP4 together with the father-and-son pair of Roberto and Simone Barin.

“I am very happy. I wish to thank everybody who has supported be hereby in the last 38 years. Motorsport is my passion. I have dedicated my whole life to motorsport. I am delighted to celebrate my jubilee within the framework of the VLN. For me, this is the best championship in the world of touring car series,” says Simoncini. The man from Valmorea in the province of Como started his sports career in 1979 in the Formula Monza. Amongst others, Simoncini participated 13 times in the Nürburgring 24 Hour Race at the legendary Nordschleife. Throughout the last years, he started in the VLN in classes VT1, V2, V3 and SP3 with a BMW 318 TI, a Ford Fiesta ST and a Renault Clio.
