Milltek Racing has the Cup victory within reach

Milltek Racing remains the ultimate benchmark in the Toyota GT86 Cup. The British team celebrated already its third win of the season at the Nürburgring. At mid-term of the cup season, the newcomers thus extended their lead in the one-make cup organised as part of the VLN endurance championship. It now looks very much like a start-finish victory in this Cup for the team.

Milltek Racing coped successfully with the challenging weather conditions which kept on changing between rain and dry sections during the only six-hour race in the VLN calendar. Dale Lomas, Lucian Gavris, Werner Gusenbauer and Tom Onslow-Cole took a superior win after having completed 32 laps. Into second place finished their strongest rivals in the fight about an overall win, the Toyota Swiss Racing Team which had started from pole position but lost a lot of time at the pits after a collision. The podium was completed by Leutheuser Racing & Events who scored the fastest lap time in the race and thus got an additional championship point. The team now comes up to the total of 69 points, only three behind the Toyota Swiss Racing Team. The championship leader Milletk Racing (86), too, is still within reach for the four remaining races.

Apart from organising its own one-make cup, Toyota is also competing in class SP3. The Team TMG United, though, was not very lucky this time, they had to stop the race in lap three due to the development of smoke.
