Vodafone is new partner of the VLN

Vodafone Deutschland is new partner of the VLN endurance championship Nürburgring. The German subsidiary company of the British mobile phone provider, the Vodafone group, concluded an agreement with the VLN VV GmbH for the season 2017.

“The partnership with Vodafone represents a great benefit for the VLN”, says VLN VV GmbH Managing Director Dietmar Busch. “The gigaspeed technology of the global company will be used for the VLN livestream in all races. The 4.5G/LTE camera technology will hereby transfer impressive pictures from the ‘Green Hell’ onto the screens at home.”

For Vodafone, the endurance championship represents a perfect platform to test and further develop state-of-the-art next-generation technologies under extreme conditions. “The cooperation with the VLN is obvious for us”, says Vodafone PR Manager Gregor Gründgens. “Both in motorsport and in our business, simply everything is about speed. Races at the Nürburgring Nordschleife represent a big challenge for us, due to the topography of the track but at the same time due to the vehicles’ speed and the stress to which they are exposed. For this reason, I am all the more delighted that our technology will contribute to an improvement in the media communication and representation of the endurance championship.”
