Schrey is back again

After VLN race 4, the current VLN Champion is back in business. In the BMW M235i Racing of Bonk Motorsport, Michael Schrey took the second Cup victory in a row. The problems finally seem to be sorted out. “That was a gala performance of him. It was a pleasure to watch him racing. I hope this series will continue for a while. He will thus remain in the fight for the championship title”, said Team Principle Michael Bonk happily.

With a lap time of 9:09.296 minutes, 34 years old Schrey had gained second grid position for his BMW M235i in the Cup class which figured the total of 15 cars. After a perfect start, Schrey moved ahead of pole setter Thomas Jäger and turned off onto the Nürburgring Nordschleife in first position. After an accident of the Scheid-Honert race car and in the further running of the race, the driver of the Bonk team especially had to concentrate onto dominating the duel with the team of Adrenalin Motorsport. Schrey, though, was able to cope with that pressure successfully until the end of the race.

“I am relieved that it finally ended with a class win for us. It was super exciting until the finish and at no time could you take a rest during the race. Just before the last pit stop, Daniel Zils of Adrenalin Motorsport tried again to pass me at the end of the Döttinger Höhe. But I was at the inside and could thus defend my position”, said Schrey.
