VLN teams dominate the Cup classes at the 24h Race

Even though the 24h Race is not a qualifying round of the single-brand cups Cup3 – Cayman GT4 Trophy by Manthey-Racing – and Cup5 – BMW M235i Racing Cup -, many VLN teams registered in the Cups will be at the start of the classical long-distance race at the Eifel race track.

Daniel Zils, Norbert Fischer and Christian Konnerth, the winners of their class V5 in the previous two VLN races 2017, replace their Porsche Cayman GT 4 CS with a BMW M235i Racing Cup. The driver trio will compete in one of three Cup-BMW entered for the 24h Race by the Pixum Team Adrenalin Motorsport. The Team Scheid Honert Motorsport will also compete with its “Eifelblitz” in this highlight of the motorsport season at the Nürburgring. The two regular drivers Thomas Jäger and Rudi Adams will this time be supported by Tobias Müller.

The VLN teams in Cup5 will actually be amongst themselves at the 24h Race: Mathol Racing, Bonk Motorsport, Walkenhorst Motorsport, FK Perfomance Motorsport and Securtal Sorg Rennsport will represent the field which figures the good entry of 13 cars.

Securtal Sorg Rennsport and Mathol Racing are moreover represented in Cup3 in which the total of ten Cayman GT4 are entered for the 24h chase around the Nordschleife. Like in the VLN, Mühlner Motorsport, Schmickler Performance, Teichmann Racing and Arkenau Motorsport will be their main rivals.
