Nexen-Mini in the VLN again in 2017

Nexen Tire Motorsport will be pushing again at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in the 2017 season: With the support of the tyre specialist form Korea, the team around Ralf Zensen will compete again in the VLN endurance championship and in the 24h Race in the current season. Their race car will again be the Nexen-Mini which has long achieved cult status with the fans along the Nordschleife.

With the 220 HP strong Mini John Cooper Works, the team has already achieved two second places in their class at the 24h classical Eifel race in the past two years, in 2016 even despite an accident in the first part of the race. The absolute highlight of the season for them would be to score a class win in the VLN endurance championship Nürburgring.

“In the winter break, Mini specialist David Dombek has developed the Mini further so that we are now looking forward to the new season with great anticipation”, says team director Ralf Zensen who nevertheless still refrains from communicating the driver squad at this point. “For 2017, we will pursue a new concept together with Nexen Tires. We are still working on the final details.”
