TJ-Racing starts in 2017 with an updated Calibra

TJ-Racing is planning to enter all the VLN races of the season 2017 with their Opel Calibra. To the delight of many fans, the team, which is based in Bonn / Germany, has last year already competed in selected rounds of the endurance championship with their sports coupé.

TJ-Racing will start in class H2 with the former DTC-Light-Calibra. The team used the winter break to implement some improvements in the touring car. “We have revised the Calibra completely”, informs team manager and driver Tobias Jung. “This includes a new and more powerful engine, a new gearbox and a power-assisted steering. We have moreover reduced the weight by about 60 kilogrammes and modified the underbody. We are confident that these adjustments will result in an improved performance. New instruments will also be used in the cockpit.”

After a first roll-out in Zandvoort / Netherlands, the team drew a favourable conclusion. “Only the noise needs another review as we don’t want to get any problems at the Nürburgring”, says Jung.

For the first two VLN races before the 24h Race, Tobias Jung will compete together with Marc Roitzheim, Thomas Kiefer and Marcel Müller. In the remaining seven rounds, Jung and Kiefer will be the regular drivers, one driver place is still free.
