VLN debut for the KTM X-Bow GT4

The KTM X-Bow GT4 will make its debut in the VLN endurance championship Nürburgring on 8th October 2016 at the DMV 250-Meilen-Rennen. The race car which was developed by Reiter Engineering and KTM in a joint cooperation has been entered for the ninth round of the endurance racing championship by two customer teams: the True Racing Team from Austria with the driver duo Ferdinand and Johannes Stuck and the Team Isert Motorsport from Germany with drivers Christopher Haase and Arne Hoffmeister.

The Stuck family is already very much looking forward to the event as the two brothers will compete together again at a VLN race after quite a time – and moreover, this is a true premiere as Johannes Stuck confirms: “I am absolutely delighted that we have the privilege to be there when the KTM customer teams will make their first steps at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. I firmly believe that the car will enrich the VLN and that it will also show a good performance.” Stuck is fully motivated for his return behind the steering wheel, but still has a small concern regarding fitness: “For sure, we want to perform well. I really hope, though, that we will not get a fitness problem because we have no power steering in the KTM X-Bow GT4.” His brother Ferdinand looks slightly differently at this issue and adds: “For a GT4 car, the X-Bow is absolutely close to a really perfect race car, the missing power steering is just something for real men. Anyhow, I am really happy to be at the start again with Johannes. By the way, this is the first time that we will compete with only two drivers, this will be a great and interesting challenge.”

On behalf of the Team Isert-Motorsport, team manager Uwe Isert dares to look ahead onto their racing debut at the Nürburgring: “We wish to take the speed of a really good year further into the X-Bow battle at the Nordschleife. Endurance racing is the next logical step and our plans are to compete on a regular basis and to also enter the 24 Hour Race. The KTM X-Bow GT4 provides a perfect basis for this plan, but our main target next week will be to finish the race and to gain experience. I am particularly happy that we could engage Christopher Haase and Arne Hoffmeister as drivers. Not only because I have a personal relationship to both of them but because they are the best men for the Team Isert-Motorsport to compete again at the Nordschleife for the first time after 15 years. It will be a challenge for all of us but we are also really looking forward to it!”
