Frikadelli changes to a BMW M6 GT3

BMW to replace Porsche: For the seventh VLN race, Frikadelli Racing changes to a M6 GT3 of BMW Motorsport. During the Rowe 6 Hours ADAC Ruhr-Pokal Race, the Porsche 911 GT3-R will remain parked in its garage. For the highlight of the VLN season, the team of Klaus Abbelen and Sabine Schmitz will, however, remain true to its traditional driver crew: Patrick Huismann and Norbert Siedler will once again complete the driver quartet.

“After the engine failure at the last race, we are not sure whether the revision will be completed in time. For this reason, we have now decided to try it in a BMW”, Abbelen said, explaining the reasons for the change. “I already had the opportunity to test the M6 GT3 at the Grand Prix Circuit and I had a really good feeling, the car was easy to handle and appeared to be very well balanced. We accepted the possibility to try this car now also at a VLN race at the Nordschleife with great pleasure. The M6 will be serviced by our team but the manufacturer will support our team with some engineers. Each of us will have to get familiar with the car during the test session on Friday. I am anyhow sure that we will instantly get on pretty well with the M6 and fight for top positions – even though we will not be able to use its full potential to the same extend as we would with our Porsche.”
