Not only the committed Opel fans will be delighted about this news. The Opel Calibra will celebrate a comeback at the Nordschleife and participate in the VLN endurance racing championship in the season 2016. The Team TJ-Racing will be in charge of the Team. Team Manager Tobias Jung and his staff will enter the Calibra in Group H already for the VLN opening round on 2nd April. „There is full agreement of all on our target“, says Jung. „We wish to encounter zero problems and take the chequered flag in the end.“
Last season, TJ-Racing had been competing with two Opel Astra in the VLN and their car pool was now increased by a true rarity. Last year, the team from Bonn acquired the Opel Calibra DTC, a vehicle from the former German Touring Car Challenge, and revised the car completely during the winter break. First tests carried out end of February were running without any problems. Jung: “The Calibra will be designed in plain white colour, combined with the original Opel Motorsport colours. We will thus write a new exciting chapter in the history of our team.“
In addition to Jung, the car will be driven by the two youngtimer pilots Andreas Kunert and Patrick Boidron as well as the youngster of the MSC Adenau, Marcel Müller. They all together will form the driver quartet which is supposed to help the Calibra to gain new glamour at the Eifel track.
