The VLN endurance racing championship concludes its first third of the season on 22nd June. The calendar figures the 44th Adenauer ADAC Simfy Trophy – the home game of the organising MSC Adenau.
Two exciting races of this most popular grassroot series in Europe lie behind teams and drivers. A great number of the VLN participants has also successfully competed in the ADAC Zurich 24h Race. At the competition twice around the clock in the ‘Green Hell’ the surprising number of 17 out of 18 possible class victories were scored by teams which have their home in the endurance racing championship.
The Adenauer ADAC Simfy Trophy race will cover the traditional distance of four hours and will furthermore provide some surprises. The first highlight on the programme will begin already on Friday evening with the invitation of SIMFYmusic, the official sponsor of the race, for all the participants and all the friends of the endurance racing championship to join a barbecue party starting at 19:30hrs. This event will take place at the party bus of VLN partner Kempen in the rear paddocks area, above the NGK chicane. Background music throughout the evening will be provided by Opel Astra Cup driver Marcel Hoppe, this time acting as DJ.
The third round of the year will furthermore figure highly interesting support events. The ‚Green Scout Cup’ from Italy will join the event at the Nürburgring. And the title of the series signifies the programme, too, as the gas driven race cars demonstrate that sustainable motorsport can also provide a lot of fun. On Friday already, the 15 Kia Venga will go out the track for two free practice sessions (08:15 and 10:50hrs) and for a timed practice (14:10hrs). The bio race cars will deliver two races on Saturday at 10:25hrs and at 16:35hrs to take place on the short version of the Grand Prix Circuit.
The highlight of the weekend of course will be the VLN race. The starting grid will be drawn up in the order of the times achieved in the timed practice between 08:30 and 10:00hrs and the race will be started at 12 o’clock exactly.
