A motor sport festival for the whole family

The countdown is on for the second round of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring to take place on 30th April. The fans may look forward to the 36th DMV 4 Hour Race organised by the Renngemeinschaft Düren which will be a true motor sport festival for the whole family. At the second race of the most popular endurance racing series in Europe, the Historic Paddocks at the Nürburgring will be reopened for the event.

Whilst sports and touring cars of all colours will fight for the victory in the endurance racing championship, a distinguished group of racing sports heroes of the good old days will gather in the Historic Paddocks: Hubert Hahne, Hans Herrmann, Klaus Ludwig, Jochen Mass, David Piper and Hans-Joachim Stuck. The programme around the classic presentations on Saturday and Sunday includes interesting interviews, autograph sessions, demonstrations of historic race cars and fashion shows of the twentieth and seventieth. Another attraction will be the presentation of the film ‘Senna’. The authentic documentation on the correspondent Formula 1 legend which will be shown on 30 April and on 1 May at 17:00hrs respectively in the ring°kino will provide a more than 100 minutes deep insight into the live of the Brazilian race driver who passed away much too early.

“The supporting programme at the Nürburgring around the second round of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft will make the hearts of all the motor sport enthusiasts beat faster”, says Robert Rust, VLN Managing Director and Head of Organisation of the event. “Current motor sport racing and the reopening of the old paddocks will close the circle around the unique history of the circuit in the Eifel region. The endurance racing championship has been an inherent part in the motor sport calendar of the Nürburgring – this is where our roots are.”

The 36th DMV 4 Hour Race will start on 30th April as usual at 12 o’clock exactly. The timed practice is scheduled for 08:30 to 10:00hrs. The entrance all around the Nordschleife is free. Tickets for the grandstands at the Grand Prix Circuit and for admission to the paddocks, including access to the starting grid, will be available at the box offices for family-friendly 12 Euros.
