Season finale – and then?

The 2010 season of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring is now slowly getting to its end. The 35th DMV Münsterlandpokal will terminate the sporting year at the Nürburgring on 30th of October. By the way: The season finale will come up with a particularity. Due to the race date in deep autumn, timed practice and the race will both start half an hour later than usual, hence at 09:00hrs and 12:30hrs respectively. Even though the engines will be stopped in the ‘Green Hell’ thereafter – the year 2010 has to offer some more highlights.

After a break of almost one month, the most popular endurance race series in Europe will be presented at the Essen Motor Show from 27 November to 5 December. Like in the past years, excitement is guaranteed again for 2010 at the fair in the metropolis of the Ruhr. Different vehicles from the endurance race series performing on the indoor circuit in the Motorsport Arena in hall 7 will attract a lot of attention again. A great number of information around the season 2011 will be available for drivers and fans at the VLN stand in hall 6. The Sporting Regulations and the calendar will be communicated there. Autograph sessions with VLN drivers will attract the fans. In addition, the brand new and official seasonal summary on DVD as well as the yearbook ‘Green Hell’ will be available at the VLN merchandising stand

Once the lights are turned off in Essen, the countdown for the VLN annual prizegiving ceremony 2010 will start. For the first time will the successful drivers receive their awards still this year. The ceremony will take place on 11 December, as usual in the Dorint Hotel at the Nürburgring. In addition to the Champions, prizes will also be distributed to the winners of the VLN Standard Production Car Cup and of the VLN Junior Trophy as well as to the winners of the make cups of Renault and Seat. A high-class show act performed by the Weather Girls with their passionate soul music will provide great entertainment. In addition, the band ‘Pop History’ will present classical music from the last five decades. Discussions all around motor sport will of course be in the focus for most of the visitors as there is hardly a more suitable opportunity for all the participants to exchange views amongst the teams in such a relaxed atmosphere. In the past, quite a few projects for the new season had been initiated on this occasion.
