There was an exciting fight for the lead amongst the top four teams in the tv14 Honda Civic Cup which was finally won by Dupré/ Nett with an advance of 44 seconds. The Honda VLN Junior Team with drivers Nägele/ Nägele/ Scheerbarth of the UAS Cologne finished second and set fastest lap time. The fight between the fastest in practice Totz/ Kreuer and Weber/ Bermes, who were invited by team director Mattias Holle to drive the Civic as a compensation for the scheduled participation in the S2000 which was not yet ready, became very close: There was a gap of only 1.3 seconds between third and fourth positions.
The ladies team Schmid/ Wassertheurer/ Müllenmeister could improve their practice result by one position and finished fifth, standing up to the Swiss/German trio Bressan/ Bühler/ Wölflick. Into seventh and eighth places followed the two Mathol teams with Dr. Schäfer/ Eichner and Imholz/ Cohausz/ Schicht. All the Honda drivers thus made it to the finish with undamaged cars, which however managed only 112 of the 163 starters.
Their first victory in the completely revised Ex-JAS Accord celebrated Venn/ Hoppe and the Fleper Team. In SP4, the Schmersal-S2000 driven by Geulen/ Schlesack finished into third class position. Bad luck, though, for the Honda S2000 of Fugel and Cardiff: They had to retire after an accident (Kirsch/ Fugel) and with a damaged clutch respectively (Platz/ Hörter/ Schmitz).
