Provisional 2009 entry result confirms last year’s figures

The new BFGoodrich Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring season will start in only a month’s time with the 56th ADAC Westfalenfahrt on 4th of April to be the kick-off for the 33rd year of the most popular race series in Europe. The VLN (Organising Committee of the Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring) is very happy about the number of participants which have so far submitted their entries to the Championship.

“About one month before the start of the season, the current result confirms last year’s figures”, says VLN Managing Director Robert Rust. “Insofar, we can expect an attractive entry in 2009, too, despite the economic crisis of these days.” The great interest of the participants also becomes apparent in the number of pit areas rented so far. “There are only few areas to let”, says Rust. “Particularly in advance of the 24h Race it might be extremely busy in the pit area, but we have learned a lot from the past years and will find easy solutions to satisfy all the participants.”

Already one week before the opening round – on 28th of March – the “Green Hell” will be extremely busy. During the official test and set-up sessions organised by the VLN, the participants have the possibility to find the perfect set-up for their race cars and the fans have a perfect opportunity to study the new race cars of the endurance teams in detail. A number of new projects at the Nordschleife are launched during these test and set-up session.
