VLN summer party 2010: A great success

The big summer party of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring which followed the 33rd RCM DMV Grenzlandrennen turned out to be a great success. Created as a combination of the traditional paddock party and the annual party for the marshals, this first event of this kind fully met all the expectations. More than 2.000 visitors – participants, marshals, fans and media representatives – had accepted the invitation to the Eifel village ‘Green Hell’ and celebrated the event together. The big surprise of the evening was VLN driver Victor Smolski who spontaneously began playing with his rock band Rage late in the evening and thus provided the perfect connection to the ‘Racers Night’ in the discotheque ‘Eifel Stadl’ where the lights were extinguished in the wee hours of the morning only.

“The VLN summer party was a great success indeed”, was the comment of Marlon Keller, Head of Sales and Marketing of the Eifel village ‘Green Hell’. “The first edition of this event could not have run better. Within an extremely short time for preparations and with our support, the VLN has organised an event which we all will remember for a long time to come.” VLN Managing Director Robert Rust, too, was very happy: “The whole VLN family has come together to celebrate the VLN summer party in a way which came up to our series in all respects. The show programme offered such a variety of activities. All the presentations of whatever kind were top-class and you could feel the excitement of all the visitors. Participants, marshals and fans, they all were in a good mood.”

Starting with the folklore band Uedelhovener Dorfmusikanten followed by the country band Crossfire, the spontaneous presentation of Victor Smolski & Friends, up to the hard rock music of Rage, the spectators experienced first class live music from 4 p.m. onwards. The show act ‘fire dancer’ provided romantic and imaginative magic moments at dusk in the Eifel and the autograph session of the VLN stars as well as the prizegiving for the sixth round of the VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring were also very much appreciated. The summer party was completed by a diversified buffet made up of small snacks up to ox roasted on a spit.

“The event was a success”, was the summary of VLN Managing Director Rust and his project chief Rolf Krimpmann. “We are convinced that the VLN summer party will for the future become an integral part on the VLN calendar.”
