Fifth win for Zils/Fischer/Konnerth

That was the right answer to the retirement in the last race of the VLN endurance championship. Together with his team mates Norbert Fischer and Christian Konnerth of the PIXUM Team Adrenalin, Daniel Zils secured his fifth victory of the season in class V5 with the Porsche Cayman.

“Our mechanics had some work to do after our accident in the last race which was not at all our fault. Despite the short break between the two races, they managed to get the car perfectly prepared again. It is great that we could reward their hard work with a win today”, said Zils happily.

With 9:32.154 minutes, the driver trio already set the fastest time in the qualifying. In the first laps of the race, Zils and PROsport driver Sheldon Van Der Linde delivered a thrilling duel. “Unfortunately, I got stuck a little in the traffic after the start, so Sheldon could go into the lead. In the second lap then, I took advantage of the slipstream and managed to overtake him at the Döttinger Höhe and to pull away slightly when it started to rain”, said Zils.

On the other hand, the man from Bendorf was not very luck in the BMW M235i Racing Cup. After an accident in the first part of the race, Zils and his team mate David Griessner scored a zero point result this time.
