„sport auto“ new, old media partner of the der VLN

The car magazine “auto sport” returns to the VLN endurance championship as new, old media partner. From 2001 to 2012, the monthly magazine published by Motor Presse Stuttgart had already been partner of the worldwide greatest grassroots racing series at the Nordschleife.

“We are very happy that ‘sport auto’ returns to the VLN family as media partner”, says Dietmar Busch, Managing Director of the VLN VV GmbH. “The magazine enjoys an excellent reputation due to its editorial content and its expertise and it matches our series perfectly with its topics and its reputation. The contract is established for a period of at least three years and comprises a close cooperation in the fields print and online with the media and magazines of Motor Presse Stuttgart.”

“sport auto” is published twelve times a year and it is one of the leading institutions in the German media scene of automobiles and beyond. The car magazine presents and tests sports versions of vehicles in public traffic and on race tracks. Just like in the endurance championship Nürburgring, a wide range is hereby covered – from nippy compact cars up to the most sophisticated super sports cars. In addition to “sport auto”, the portfolio of Motor Presse Stuttgart furthermore includes “auto motor und sport” and “MOTORSPORT aktuell”, two more popular specialised magazines which will also cover the VLN on a regular basis.

“We have a close connection to the Nürburgring and in particular to the Nordschleife”, confirms “sport auto” chief editor Marcus Schurig who himself has already participated in some VLN races as driver. “We conduct exclusive and extensive tests with our sports cars in the ‘green hell’. And many of those cars are also competing in the endurance championship in the corresponding racing trim. Many synergies will arise and we will use them in future jointly with the VLN.”

“sport auto” replaces “Auto Bild Motorsport” as media partner of the VLN; the specialized magazine of the Axel Springer Auto publishing house was engaged in the endurance championship from 2013 to 2016. “The magazine Auto Bild Motorsport had been a fair and reliable partner for the VLN throughout the last years and it has provided a broad medial distribution for our series”, says Karl Mauer, chief representative of the VLN OHG. “I wish to thank the editorial staff and the publishing house for their cooperation which I hope will nevertheless continue in the future despite the changed conditions.”
