WTM-Racing is looking forward to the endurance race season 2009

The Wochenspiegel Team Manthey (WTM-Racing) traditionally started with a big party into the new season of endurance races. Just before the beginning of its third year in the Championship, there are some minor changes in the WTM-Racing team. The team composed of regular drivers Georg Weiss, Michael Jacobs and Peter-Paul Pietsch is now completed by Porsche youngster Martin Ragginger from Austria who will join the Porsche team for the 24h Race at the Nürburgring. He will also be the reserve driver in the BFGoodrich Langstreckenmeisterschaft.

The race car to be used at the beginning of the season will be the usual Wochenspiegel-Porsche 997 GT3 in class SP7. The team will race in the Porsche, which was completely revised during winter time and adjusted to the new regulations, at the first two rounds of the endurance race season and also at the 24 Hours. Later in the season, WTM-Racing will then enter a new Porsche 997 GT3 Cup S which is currently prepared for its race participation in the premises of Manthey-Racing.

WTM-Racing has scheduled its first appearance at the Nürburgring Nordschleife for the BFGoodrich Langstreckenmeisterschaft test and set-up sessions where the drivers will have the opportunity to complete their first tests in the Wochenspiegel-Porsche.

Georg Weiss: „I am really looking forward to this third season for the WTM-Team, although there is a bit of concern due to the new regulations. Anyhow, we wish to confirm our positive development during the last season and finish on podium positions again.”

Peter-Paul Pietsch: “I hope we will score some good results and I wish in any case to finish the 24 Hour Race. However, I am really optimistic in this regard as the Wochenspiegel-Porsche is a very reliable race car.”

Michael Jacobs: “We are a fantastic team and each of us enjoys racing so much. Any I would like to have as much fun in racing as I had last year.”

Martin Ragginger: “WTM-Racing has done a really great job in 2008 and I am very proud that I was given the opportunity to join the team for this season.”

Olaf Manthey: “The Wochenspiegel-Porsche must be considered to be one of the top cars in the field. I expect even better performances for the current season than last year when they started very strong but then unfortunately got a little weaker during the season.”
